Glastonbury Tor

I found recently a lovely photo of Glastonbury Tor with the sun setting and a mist at the foot of the hill, so I grabbed my paints and set to making it into a watercolour.

It measures approx. 10" x 6" for which I don't have a Mount to put it in!.... so will use this painting as a reference for a full sized watercolour in the future, probably looking at something twice this size.
Anyway and meanwhile I'm pleased with this version.

Very nice. Very haunting. I expect to see Brigadoon to appear out of the mist!

Ann, this is just beautiful. The serene sky is so enticing. Can't wait to see it bigger. xx

Soft and pretty! I like it. I paint in my journal so far and they aren't conducive to framing should I ever make one good enough I want it for that. Yegads, I don't know if I could ever consider one a study so I could redo it hoping to make it better.

What a gorgeous painting!
I'd be inclined to cut my own mount for this one :)

Hi All - and thanks so much for all your lovely comments...

I agree Pat, I think I should cut a mount myself!

See what you mean Robin about the Brigadoon...very good!

Thanks Annie, Glastonbury Tor is an ancient monument - wikipedia explains about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glastonbury_Tor

Cheers everyone :)

Ann, I have been aching to go to Glastonbury Tor since I read the Mists of Avalon years ago...Hope to get there in the next few years. Your painting is lovely, so soft and quiet.
