Haytor on Dartmoor

I have finally finished another Atelier Interactive Acrylic on canvas.  This time I have chosen a sunset of the Tramway on Haytor, Dartmoor.

The tramway was built in about 1820 to move the granite from the quarries for building houses, bridges etc (in fact it employed about 100 men), but closed around 1858 in favour of cheaper granite from Cornwall.

the painting measures 20" x 16"

Thank you John, although it took a little longer to do than I would have hoped, I am pleased with it.

Another place I know and love that you have captured so well. It seems that the Interactive acrylics are your new favourites. Do you prefer acrylic to oil paint?

ann @ studiohyde said...

Thanks Judith - yes I really do like these Interactive acrylics -
1. they don't smell
2. they are easy to clean up
3. they dry quickly (but can be reactivated with water) and
4. blend like oils
So yes, they are my favourites. Having said that I'll still use my oils, particularly when I do the Bob Ross technique in some work - it's so easy.
