Sunny morning

Whilst a large part of the country is struggling with snow and icy conditions, here on the South West coast we have escaped the worst of the conditions (at least for now) - up on Exmoor, a few miles from here, they have had snow, but then that is to be expected with it being higher and above sea level.

I have just taken this photo, at 9.38am, from a suitable vantage point looking across to the Atlantic and we have it clear and sunny and -2 degrees, (according to the temperature reading from the car), brrrrr.

have a good weekend everyone!

Beautiful view, Ann! I think you live in the only part of Europe that is not covered in snow and ice. Lucky you! But the sun is shining and the air is clear.

Brrr is right! Brr, but beautiful! (Should I add that we’ve been averaging in the 80’s lately? Or would that be cruel? LOL And if it makes you feel any better I’m being punished for rubbing it in, tonight’s low is going to be 39. That is FREEZING for us! LOL)

Lovely photograph! This is such a change from all the posts of snowy scenes currently coming in from Europe and UK.

Lucky you! My friend has just returned to Dorset - bet she was glad to get back to such clear weather and away from our snow :) xx

Goodness Robin..you are getting good weather! My DH adores the heat and would love to live somewhere hot and sunny all the time (I won't tell him about the temperatures you have out there)!!

Hi Balaji, Yes, I thought this post would surprise people, as I'm sure the world news makes it sound as though the whole of the UK is covered in snow!

Hi Pat, Hope the snow doesn't last too long for you. I must say I do like to see snow falling, but after about 5 minutes of being on the ground I am over that initial 'ah isn't this pretty'!!

Glad your part of the world is snow free too, we seem to be in a minority Carol!

Yes, a beautiful morning, here was also very sunny but very cold a nasty wind.

Hi Leovi, good to hear from you and also good to know that here in the South West is not the only place with sunny weather in amongst all the ice and snow. Take care and looking forward to seeing more of your fantastic photographs.

-2? Cold? Ha ha, that's sunbathing weather!!
Actually we have had a very mild winter, but this w/e it dropped to -12C with high winds and snow. I knew it would happen sooner or later.
Thank you for the email and the bus info. We are getting the trip organised gradually. I will let you know what arrangements we come to.

hehehe word verification is "veralin", didn't she used to sing?????

ann @ studiohyde said...

OMG! -12C, brrrr, how do you cope with that, still I guess it's being used to it, we are far too soft here! Glad your trip is getting organised, yay. As for the word verification: I had one the other day that was 'ballymog' (decided it must be a town full of cats in Ireland!)lol.

Simply gorgeous...would love to visit this area...your temps are the same as ours in Nova Scotia. We just missed a major snow storm...phew...rain instead. Actually cold does not bother me...love it!
