Work in Progress

I am still working on my Atelier Interactive acrylic painting from the other day -

Exmoor View

I have finally got round to adding some detail to the bottom half of the painting.  For the distant hills on the left I have given them some extra colour and when that dried I added a glaze of white/blue mix to create a misty look  - (they are close-ups so you can see a bit of detail but I apologise for the slight glare)

then I tackled the pathway leading the viewer into the scene and added some random puddles!

and a first layer of grasses on the right

I still have some way to go adding more detail here and there
but for now this is how it looks

I love it already! The details in the path and the grasses are fabulous, Ann! The photo of the grasses is a wonderful painting on its own!

Thank you so much Judy. Why is it we do our paintings and can't see what others see!

Thank you Tito, I intend to leave it for a day or two, look at it again and hopefully I will see what else I need to do, as you say, I am nearly there.

I would just like to say that I do really appreciate all of the comments I get on this blog. The very fact that you all take the time and effort to send me a comment, so here's a big THANK YOU.

Amazing! It really does pull you right in!

Thanks Robin. Somehow putting this on the blog has helped me see it more objectively, more so than looking at the actual painting sitting on the easle. Funny that, but I guess it just distances me from it, as if someone else has done it!

I love the sky of this paint and the colors of the ground. I think that I tell you enother time that you find beatiful and suggestive atmosphere.

Thank you Floriana, it had not really occurred to me that I paint scenes with atmosphere until you pointed it out, but yes I guess I do!

Hi Annie, had a hiccup with the reply as you will no doubt see!
wanted to say Thanks, this place on Exmoor can be very wild, especially this time of year. They have snow up there at the moment! (have emailed you 2.2.12:))
