Primroses

It is so nice to see the flowers coming back after what seems like a long Winter, in this case Primroses along the bank on our walk.   Just thought it would be nice to share a couple of photos with you on this Friday morning...

and low and behold there was also some appropriately named
Devon Violets

Have a lovely weekend!

I love those little wild flowers! Even more than the bigger cultivated ones! The little violets are so beautiful when you look closely, and they smell wonderful. Have a great weekend, Ann!

Wild violets are my favorite flower ever! I’ve always wanted someone to give me a bouquet of wild violets (for my fur, as Frank Sinatra used to sing) but so far, no luck! Maybe in my next life! LOL Lovely pictures!

Hi Ann, your 'word verification free zone' button makes me happy! These verification quizes are getting almost impossible to crack, aren't they?
BTW I answered your question over on my blog http://piadrent.blogspot.com and if you would like to know more just email me, my email address is on my 'about' tab :)

Ahhh.. primroses. As a little girl, every Easter I went with my mum and dad to pick primroses in Saltwood in CM. Each posy of primroses had to be enclosed with a circle of primrose leaves, and then the stems tied with some wool. Then we took the posies home, loaded them into boxes and posted them to relatives who were unfortunate enough to live in cities and they were received fresh and blooming the next day!!! Can't imagine doing that now. The poor flowers would be dead by the time they were delivered.

That sounds such a nice thing to have done with posies.

Dear Ann,
Thank you for these photos. Do ye kne? I really love violets. In my eyes, they are so humble behind roses and other big flowers. I hardly paint flowers, but violets are my exception(*you've seen it in my blog).
Cheers,Sadami
