Garden flowers, broken pot and sketches

At last it looks like the garden is springing into life!

I took a wander around our back garden earlier today and have taken a few photographs which I thought I would share with you.  Couldn't help but do some sketches too, so I have added them as well

plants just starting to grow in this pot
but alas the
next pot didn't make it through the winter
obviously not frost resistant enough

even the rosemary shrub looks pretty at this
time of year

although no flowers to the Lambs Ears, (stachys byzantina),
as yet, I had to take a photo - this plant well earns
its name

I tried to get a very close-up as the soft downy leaves
had a slight dew on them

Those lamb's ears are so soft Judy, I couldn't resist them.

Your blooms are lovely, just like your sketches. I had 'lambs ear' at my last house and loved its color and feel. I don't have it where I live now, but may have to find some and plant it--THANKS for reminding me of it!

I hope you're doing well, and enjoying your weekend!

Your garden looks pretty, and the flowering is already so much more developed than here in our town, in the Netherlands! How can this be !? (Slightly envious, haha)

Gorgeous flowers and sketches.
I love rosemary with its magnificent scent and those blue flowers. Yours is in fantastic looking shape.
I bet you could stay all summer in your garden, painting! xx

what are those pink/lavendar flowers at the beginning of the post? Thanks for your comment about Bank Street-I have trouble sticking with series because I'm easily distracted. Lovely sketches!

Hi Chris, the pink/lavendar flowers are low growing Periwinkle's, they make great ground cover, hence reduce weeding, yay:)
