Completed Work in Progress

This is the stage at which the painting

was the last time you saw it.........

well, after much tweaking and fiddling

I have now completed

this painting .... you may remember

it from a previous post, using Atelier Interactive Acrylics....and how

I would be leaving it for a while in

order that I could go back to it with

 fresh eyes

Taking an objective look from the top and working my way down, I felt pleased with the sky and distant hills - so didn't feel there was anything extra to do there.

I did feel that the water needed breaking up a bit though.  So to start with I added some darks in the distance.  I then extended the left-hand bank - slightly, and added the indication of land in the foreground (right).  Plus additional colour to both sides. I have tried to get a good photo of it, but for some reason my camera just refuses to pick up the colour properly, although on close-ups I think it gives you a clearer view....

and the completed painting which I decided
to name

EXMOOR MIST

  5. It's beautiful! I know what you mean about trying to photograph a larger canvas - it's so difficult to get the camera to do it justice but this is a wonderful piece and you must be very happy with it!

  28. It's exquisite Ann. I think your camera picked up the mist beautifully (actually it picked it all up beautifully) and we can't expect anything to photograph any clearer when it's foggy out!!!

  32. Wow! That is stunning. Though I liked it before, it did get better, didn't it? It is warmer, and more messed up like a real landscape.
