Before the melt

Just wanted to share some photos taken before the snow melted - this seems like a distant memory now, but was only last week!

this is a cricket pavilion....on open forest and has to be fenced off during the cricket season to stop the animals roaming all over it!

Looks like a lot of people have enjoyed the slope here down from the trees.  I remember sledging here myself as a kid....very paintful too, as my dad had made a wooden sledge with the rungs the wrong way round....ouch!

I love this kind of snow. Fun to play in for a short time and gone soon. :) We only got a little bit of snow so far. I was hoping for a tad more. :)

Thanks Pat. It was a little late in the day when I took these pics, but at least I captured the atmosphere lol.

I know what you mean Cris, it was getting quite slushy in these pics.

Lovely photos! I especially like the last one where the sun is trying hard to shine through those wintery clouds.

Nice shots, Wintry and gray . . . .looks like New Jersey, Ann. That's about all the snow we've gotten here too. It was 70 degrees here today, but I think more cold weather is on its way. Of course, I probably will be kicking myself for saying that we haven't had much snow, when we get dumped on!

It was trying to shine, but the clouds won. Bet you guessed where this was too!

What is the weather up to! We obviously had snow, now gone, but have endured days of solid rain!! Wonder if the snow will return before the winter fades away?

They're great photos and a fun memory too! I saw our big sledding hill last summer that we went down as kids, and for some reason, it didn't seem quite as daunting! :-)

Yes, our snow has disappeared too. Yesterday was so warm I sat out on the deck and read in the sunshine.

Lovely pictures but not exactly enough snow to complain about! (Now when I was a kid…….. wink, wink LOL)

Lol :-)

ann @ studiohyde said...

I know what you mean, I suppose when we were kids everything seemed bigger!

ann @ studiohyde said...

Sounds so nice to sit out in the sunshine and read...I'll keep dreaming! lol

I would love to wake up and see that through my window! And to ride on a sledge would so much fun!

lovely photos Ann, look a lot like Canada right now! I got caught in a snow squall this morning then it cleared up within the hour.

ann @ studiohyde said...

....and I expect you take it in your stride Christine. Here, a little adverse weather causes chaos! Lol

Nice snow scenes!

Thanks Joan:)

I remember the chaos caused by a little bit of snow in UK.... you should try living through a Canadian winter! However, winters are not half as snowy here as they used to be. Hardly any snow on the ground at the moment, but I'm sure we will be getting a big storm before the winter is finished with us. Meanwhile.... it's -15C outside this morning,

ann @ studiohyde said...

OMG Shammickite -15c brrrr! Don't tell me, that's some sort of heatwave! lol :)

Hi, Ann,
I love to make the second photo into watercolour. Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos.

By all means Sadami, please use any of these photos for your art. I meant to add that to this post, so anyone else out there who would like to make use of them, then please do.
