Paint Blob!

Yes,    Blob!

- You know when kids see a face /object/creature in the clouds.
( I still do that now actually)....
well
 anyways,
I was sketching the other day and a 'blob' of paint dropped onto my paper....
I left it, thinking I'll sort that out later....

well, later came and when I looked at it I reasoned Why Waste It,

(i did turn it round & added a bit of dark where I knew I was going with it)
then added some pen work and guess who I got -

Just goes to show -

Try to make use of all your sketches

and mishaps, there could be a painting in there somewhere!

I am today Linking to
(many Thanks to Eva & Kristin)

William is just the perfect dog in more ways then one! Great save. BTW what kind of dog IS William. He reminds me of a dog my Mom had when she was 16.

ann @ studiohyde said...

Hi Cris, William seems to have people wrapped around his four paws! lol. He's a Lurcher which is a mix of greyhound and anything else. So long as they have greyhound plus something else in them they are a Lurcher.
William is a mix of Deerhound, Greyhound, Bedlington, Collie and Huntaway!...we know he has all this in him as our daughter bought him back in 2007 for us as a Christmas present! and the people she got him from knew all his history.

There are so many ways to begin a painting. Sometimes the most interesting ones begin as blobs, I think! The looseness and freedom is there from the beginning.

ann @ studiohyde said...

I agree with you there Debbie, it takes the pressure off :)

I love Blob. I see things in the clouds too still. Just says we actually use our imagination perhaps.

Now blobs is something I'm good at. I can't ever turn them into anything useful though. You did really well with this one ... love it!!

ann @ studiohyde said...

Thanks Laura, I'm glad someone else admits to seeing things in clouds :)

ann @ studiohyde said...

Thank you John, it was only when it had dried that I thought I could use it, but nearly got lobbed into the bin! :)

Yay! Wonderful William. :) Paint blobs are the greatest. Kind of like a blank page in a journal..
