as the News is so full of the scandal about mislabelling of meat - I've done a little sketch to fit the moment.
Oh, in case some of you haven't heard, this mainly applies to ready meals ie burgers, lasagne etc etc where the labels say it contains beef, but actually has been tested and found to contain horse! Okay, a lot of people enjoy eating different meats, and that I accept, but I do think the labels should tell the truth!
Very good, made us all chuckle! Labelling definitely needs improving, who knows what else is lurking in the food chain?!
ReplyDeleteThanks Muleteers...I hope it gets dealt with!
DeleteWe laugh but that is our way , but truthfully we hope they....pay. Disgusting people and poor horses.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day.
We hope you have a wonderful day.
Best wishes Molly
With you there Molly :)
DeleteEvery day they find something fake or lied about in our food. Its really sad and makes me not buy anything premade and packaged any more. Also sad about the poor horses. Good job on the sketch.
ReplyDeleteWe feel like that too Cris, we like to know where our food has come from. I think that goes for vegetables too, what do they spray on these days!
DeleteOí el escándalo en la TV, me parece muy mal que no se indique correctamente el etiquetado. ¡Feliz dia! aunque sea un poco tarde por la hora :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right Sonia, the labelling should be right. gracias.
DeleteI've heard about this, and am sorry that it's happened, it's really upsetting--Are you eating a lot of fish?
ReplyDeleteI've always eaten a lot of fish Kim, glad I do now! lol.
DeleteI’m not so sure I could eat horse meat. Not really for ethical reasons, but they’re just so darn cute it seems wrong. Funny, I don’t feel that way about cattle……..
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I guess it's just what you are used to though as some countries don't worry about these things.
DeleteThat made me smile, Ann :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :)
DeleteLots of people around the world eat horse meat and are quite used to it. No different from eating dog, or cat, or monkey, or the kangaroo burgers I ate in Australia. But at least I knew it was kangaroo, not mystery meat.
ReplyDeleteExactly how we feel Shammickite. They are really going to have to sort this one out!
DeleteSweet sketch. Awful story...or rather thought. Yuk.
ReplyDelete...Exactly what most people have thought annie!. The type of meat is one thing, but the fact that the labelling is wrong!...sheesh!!
