Snow days and Paint Party Friday

Friday already and I'm Linking to Paint Party Friday - with many Thanks to EVA & Kristin - whilst sharing some Snow....

Just got back from the Brecon mountains in Wales.  A lovely time revisiting familiar places and sightseeing.    So, here's a few (a lot) of pix for you to enjoy and a little sketching too, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing at the time...(although I have to admit I sketched them in the car but didn't add the watercolour til later)...

Watercolour in my large moleskine book...

The higher we drove the more snow we found, but it was lovely to see the comparison between 'High and Cold with Snow' and 'Sunny and a bit warmer at lower level'......

close up...

and

I took some videos of the drive.....so if you have got this far perhaps you would like to see these.  Apologies for the dead flies on the windscreen, flies will obviously do anything to get in on a video!

In Video 1, it would seem that some drivers had more trouble with the icy conditions than us......

This area reminds us so much of our own Dartmoor,
especially when it is snow capped.

~ Have a terrific weekend all ~

Wonderful pictures and paintings of a terrific landscape. I have visited the Brecon Beacons on a few occasions but I have to say it looks pretty cold!! The videos are great and its good that the roads were clear but look out for that black ice!

Lovely scenery. I envy your ability to sketch while riding in the car. I can't read or do stuff like that or I get motion sick.

lovely scenery- but I'm cold just looking at them. Wouldn't see me driving in snow and ice either. I much prefer the sunnier lower level :) Your watercolour sketches are beautiful!

wow.. all that snow. I hope that guy off the road was ok. We might be having some of that next week as they keep saying a wintery mix is coming down from the north to us. burrr. at least it never lasts long. I hope not as I worry about the chickens. Nice sketches and loved the videos. but I about had a heart attack seeing the trucks coming down the wrong side of the road.. :)))))

Gorgeous...you'd love Whistler mountain!! Although I enjoyed the videos....I was a bit anxious as you drive on the opposite side of the road...I kept feeling there would be a head on collision...it was so funny!! We are all so programmed to our own normal!! Beautiful sketches!!

Hugs Giggles

Beautiful area it is, but like Linda, I am freezing now looking at the images! :) The watercolours are beautiful, Ann, thank you for the tour!

Not picking on your photos but your sketching evokes the scenery so much better! (And driving on the left is FREAKY!)

Whistler mountain sounds nice, must look this up...thanks Giggles :)

Thanks everyone...glad you liked seeing all this snow. Oh and Robin...it's everyone else who drives on the wrong side of the road, lol :)

Stunning photos of Brecon under early snow. The light must have been amazing!

It was glorious DW, so pleased we were there to see it.

I'm sure all the non-Brits felt uncomfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road! Nice snow scenes. Some snow on the ground here too.... but not quite as pretty as yours. I remember Exmoor like that. Snow on the high ground and still green in the valleys.

I know, it makes me laugh to think others drive on the Right!! The weather people reckon we may get snow this Winter, if we do I'll try to get pix of Exmoor :)

Hi, Ann, thank you for sharing the beautiful photos, the impressive watercolour paintings and a nice post. I was living in an area, where it snowed in Japan. I sometimes miss snow in Sydney. So, your photos are very nice for me. Keep up watercolour!
Best wishes, Sadami

So much snow already! Hard to imagine for me now that summer is starting here ... Your watercolours really capture the beauty.

It was Brrr! Joan....I see you are already over in Dublin, I'll catch up with you soon :)

Hi Sadami, I find it difficult to get my head around the fact that you are starting Summer over there in Sydney and we are having our Winter :)

Hi denthe, it is strange for us both - you are having Summer - we are having Winter....Thanks for stopping by :)
