Road Trip - Bournemouth

Our first stop was in Bournemouth Dorset.

Staying at the Wessex Hotel

We have been here before (some of you might recall that) - makes for a very handy place what with the shops and also the beach nearby.  Of course, a certain lurcher loves the beach and we have to accommodate him don't we!  - which means our first job is down on the sand...

the Lift was closed at this time of year...

and we found this beach hut....the Camera Obscura

worth a couple of photos and a quick sketch  (I added the watercolour later)...

During our stay in Bournemouth we went over to Studland....but I'll do that outing in the next post - see you there!

Thank you for becoming one of my latest followers and introducing me to your lovely blog. My husband has stayed a few times at the Wessex hotel and we also enjoyed a Christmas party there. W'e haven't been over to Bournemouth beach for ages and so haven't seen the latest addition to one of the beach huts. I love the different perspective you get from a camera obsura. Sadly we missed last years Art festival hopefully we will make this years! Look forward to seeing your posts on Studland ,and Portland too.Sarah x

As I was reading this I was thinking the same thing! When the view is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU why would you want to go INSIDE to look at an upside-down projection…….?

Exactly!...still, it was fun to come across, sort of the last thing you expect to see on top of a beach hut, lol.

Love the photos and video below of the drive. If the life is closed do you drive back up to the top or walk? Looks mighty high. lol Nice sketch.

Thanks Joan, the walk down to the beach was fairly easy, there's a zig-zag path:

which we walked down, but continuing on along the beach took us nearer the town and we walked back through a park, all gradual so we didn't notice the climbing up bit, lol :-)
