Road Trip takes in three different destinations

Ahh... the open road picture from my previous post

this journey starts our trip to three different towns - Bournemouth - Arundel and then back to Burley in the New Forest.

I took a lot of pictures during this trip, so have decided to divide the posts up into bite sized pieces.  Starting with journeying across to Bournemouth in Dorset - the County I always see as being Pink.  Yes, a strange notion perhaps, but for some reason I always see Dorset with a pinkish hue to it, and yet a lot of the soil is chalk, so I've no idea where the pink comes from!

Dorset countryside has rolling hills as in our home county of Devon, but
they are 'softer' rolling hills somehow

Through villages....

past sheep.....there are always sheep!

and past Dorchester - where they built an extra development at the top of the hill
and it reminds me of a toy town!!!
(you can tell this is going to be a strange trip can't you)

and on down to Bournemouth

A bite sized start
to our
trip

Oh I love the map. I was seeing where places are I have read about thru the years without knowing where they are compared to where London is. Some pretty county over there. Love the sheep everywhere too. I got a bit disoriented watching the video tho..driving on the wrong side of the street. LOL. Can't wait to see the rest of your trip.

Thanks for sharing! It's all snow here in the Toronto area.

I can't believe how green the countryside is. No snow. Not even a patch

I'm glad I added the maps, hoped it would help. As for the driving on the left...we do it on purpose to confuse people!! lol

It's been over 30 years since I was lucky enough to travel the English countryside; thank you, Ann, for the virtual visit!

By the way, love William the Lurcher's board on Pinterest!
