Model fisherman...

On our recent trip to Cornwall we visited Porthleven.  A harbour port, fishing boats, tourists (even at this time of year...including us) and the inevitable fish shops...that's Fish and Chip Shops plus wet fish shops with its direct supplies from the boats themselves...

We parked up and happened to be outside such a shop.  I had to sketch this little model of a fisherman in his sou'wester (oilskin) stood in the corner of their window...

Nicely done. It looks like a real man. :) I am also enjoying being able to see where everything is on a map. If you were to drive to London how long would it take?

Thanks Christine :-)

Thanks Cris, I've only just realised the Location tab links to Places, so useful as I can now show folks where I am talking about.

Drive to London?...probably about four to five hours given a good tail wind, lol :-)

Your new banner photo is stunning, Ann. I want to BE there NOW! Love the jolly fisherman in his yellow slicker. We have such a fellow carved in wood outside our favorite clam chowder place in a near by (2 hr. ride) beach area in California, called Bodega Bay.

Thanks Lynn, I took the photo down at Studland in Dorset.

I think the fisherman I have drawn must have a cousin in Bodega Bay then, lol.

Your chap reminds me of the statue of the Gloucester Fisherman in Gloucester, Massachusetts http://www.capeannvacations.com/Vacation.cfm?id=8698&mk=37&ck=0
