Journey down to Crediton

The other day we drove down to Crediton.  We could have chosen a quicker route, but rather like to take things easy and enjoy the scenery on the Eggesford road.  In fact we stopped at Eggesford forest for a walk and leg stretch....such a lovely place - although we didn't see them this day, we have in the past caught sight of deer...

Just turning around from the previous photo, you look across the hills to this little church...

and close up....

isn't that sweet.

This is the track we were walking...

and further in the distance - (my zoom on the camera ideal for this distance)...

A gorgeous walk on a gorgeous day.

No doubt we will take this drive again soon.

How lush and green it all looks and what a lovely place to walk. I wonder if the little church was the family churh for that grand house?

Is William up and walking with you again?

Wow, what a lovely area. Is that a castle off in the distance in the bottom pix?

I'm not sure about the little church and house, I need to find out.
Yes, William is more or less back to his usual self now thanks....we are trying to restrict his rushing about (just about achieving it), lol.

Thanks Cris, no it isn't an actual castle, just a grand house built to look like one.

Lovely views, and it looks as if you had such a peaceful walk. Your lovely distance and zoom photos are so good, and although I love my I-phone camera you make me wish for my wonderful old Pentax before it, and all the lenses, got too heavy for me to carry and enjoy walking.

Hi Jez, glad you enjoyed these photos. I know what you mean about cameras, with all the extras alone, they can get very heavy to carry. Mine is the Olympus SP-810UZ 14 megapixel and weights 425 g. 36 x wide optical zoom....so I can cope with it not being too heavy and yet it has a wonderful zoom capacity.

Lovely, I recognise the church from our train journey to Barnstaple. Sarah x

I love that train journey, it has to be one of the prettiest journeys by train ever, meandering along next to the river all the way. The quirky bit is at Eggesford when the train stops, the driver gets out and unlocks a box to bring the barriers down so the train can cross the road! Gives me a giggle every time :-)
