A La Ronde

Another National Trust property visit, this time the smallest property so far.  The 16 sided A la Ronde

With views across the estuary towards Exmouth

This separate building houses a small room which was the laundry....

I think I prefer my washing machine!

And a sketch of the house during our visit....which I coloured later

Hi Ann
The NT have some amazing venues on offer. Though I did not get to Tredegar House, I ventured up to the Lleyn Peninsular and had almost a week exploring and relaxing on a rugged beach.
Have fun!

Yet another place I've always meant to visit. Love the sketch and the jellyfish in the last one too!

You certainly get around and see so many interesting places. A la Ronde is quite charming. I've never explored that area. Modern washing machines are one of the world's greatest inventions, along with dishwashers, and lawnmowers, and hot water tanks, and vacuum cleaners etc etc etc.... I remember my mother lighting the gas boiler to boil the whites (remeber Reckitt's blue?), then I turned the handle on the mangle, hoping for a sunny day to dry everything on the washing line.
