Sketches from our recent trip.

Sketching is a big part of trips away
for me.

Yes, photographs are great too, but the drawings always 'put me back there' far more
than any photograph can.

With that said, here are a few from our recent trip to Wales...

Love them all. We pay more attention to something when we sketch it rather then photograph it only. Thanks for sharing. :)

I've read several times that when you get wrapped up in taking photos you miss out on the emotions of the moment that you are trying to capture. I think you are right in that your beautiful drawings truly help create and keep those memories alive that sometimes photos don't.

Your sketches are lovely as always, and your HANDWRITING is so elegant!

Great collection of sketches from your trip, Ann! I agree with you that the sketches take you back much more than photos. You remember the sounds, feel, and smell of the day that way.

Thanks Christine :-)

Yes, you are so right Cris...I will remember this visit because of the sketches.

That is so true Kim, it is the emotion of the place/sounds etc. that help seal the memories with the sketching.

Cheers Robin, and it's all thanks to Picmonkey ;)

It all stays with us doesn't it...the lines we draw, the paint we add will always take us back to that place at that time :-)

Hi Christine...so sweet of you to add your comment again. I have to admit I was busy today so I didn't get to putting comments on after moderation...having said that, I have (like others) been experiencing problems with blogger comments recently :-)

it's been driving me crazy Ann, mostly they are getting posted eventually lol. The other problem I have is that some are on Google+ and I am not so I haven't been able to comment on those ones directly.

I know Christine, it's driving me nuts. I've no idea why it is happening, unless blogger are updating something and the system hasn't sorted it out yet. Lets hope it is just a glitch!

I have resolved the annoying fact that (as with commenting here for example), I write this, then as always Select profile (Google Account) press Publish - up comes the sign in window, which I duly fill in - press enter (normally at that point it either goes off for moderation OR it appears with Captcha OR is placed on the blog itself.....BUT NOW A DAYS, it disappears - nothing - grrrr. SOooooo, I type this - Then I COPY IT ...haha, that fools it...I can then do all the other bits (as above) then when it doesn't appear...I just Ctrl V and it's there, tada. What a to do though, it shouldn't be like this.

I've had the same as you with Google+ (I'm not on google+ at least I don't think so!!!), but a window comes up wanting my name etc, date of birth, but I don't want to do any of that, so I can't Comment on a blog I really wanted to. grrrr again!

I wish I could sketch as confidently and as beautifully as you Ann. I do my best on hols but I am slow. I think hubby would get very frustrated waiting if I did more. One day we will both be too old to race around and we will end up on hols in Eastbourne. I can sketch to my hearts content then sitting in my deckchair on the beach. lol. Hope you enjoyed Wales.

Thanks Laura....I snatch bits of time whilst we are away and sketch, here and there. When we stop for a drink, or just look at a view, then I sketch. Sometimes husb. wanders off and gives William a walkies, and that gives me a chance to sketch too. Then in the evenings I sometimes add to the painting and tidy it up, but I know what you mean about sketching whilst husbands wait about, lol. Eastbourne sounds a good option, I was thinking more Costa Brava, lol.

That's great Judy...glad you enjoyed seeing the sketches and the trip itself. Brilliant that you also see the puppy face, confirmation that I'm not imagining things, lol.
