A visit to Kingston Lacy

This National Trust property is a place I've heard about and now I can say we have been there.  Stopped off on our way home from Bournemouth to take a look around before it closes for the Winter.

Apparently this is the last Winter when the property will close from November through to March.  Next year it will remain Open throughout the Winter.  This will pose a challenge for the conservation people there, but I'm sure they will cope.

this is the back of the property...

(yes, it was halloween...thought I had landed in a Harry Potter story!!!   )

I used the zoom for some photos....this shepherds hut was way off in the distance...

and I spied a muntjac....look carefully....

here...shame he didn't look up when I took the picture....
must have been camera shy

and there was a very scruffy dog waiting for his dad to finish looking around...
...I think we know this one, I thought he blended in well with the stonework ...

Well worth the visit to this
National Trust house.

beautiful, are you allowed inside and can you take photos inside? I would love to visit here, it is a bit Harry Potter "like" !!!

Yes, we got to look inside. It's beautiful, marble hallway and staircase. Each room is full of treasures. Lots of paintings too. You can take photos but I didn't as I couldn't be completely sure the flash wouldn't go off. They ask for no flash photography, not because of it affecting the items in the house, but because it might disturb other visitors. There are photos on the internet of the inside, if you put INSIDE KINGSTON LACY into Google search IMAGES, it comes up with a lot. Just taken a look through them myself and the rooms are just as I saw them for the most part.

It is, amazing to have seen it. The proportions were so good both outside and inside.

Yes, it made us laugh that William looked quite at home :-)

Wow it's huge. Did you get to go inside? Do they let you take pix inside? What do you do with William if you go inside? Fun visit.

Yes we did go inside, I could have taken photos but wasn't sure I could turn off the flash. We take turns going into places.

This is certainly a gorgeous place. The best part was seeing William. He looks like he belongs right there. Thanks for sharing.
