High Tides

We're getting a series of high tides at the moment.  Walks have to be worked out, but it is quite dramatic to watch it right up against the dunes, some of which will be taken out, but surprisingly it recovers eventually.

We get a lot of high tides like that, but here it is the storms that really damage the dunes. We have lost so much in the past few years. The sand is lost in one area but ends up in another area. But the area that loses the sand has to deal with the problems. It is always fun to watch the water!

Thanks Mary, Robin and CJ :-)

That's a problem here too. One part of the beach has really dropped down, but as you say, another gains.

Luckily there are some high dunes to repair from the water !

I guessed ;) and yes, you are right. I think it will take some time to get back to where it was.

I don't know why the power isn't harnessed somehow. They like putting those turbines everywhere, why not use the power of the sea :-)

Yes, and we've more to come over the next month!
