Mixing shadow colours

Mixing Shadow colours....we all end up with a palette of mixes and this gives a great opportunity to create some shadow colours.

Picture 1 the messy palette.

Picture 2 added clear water to mix those colours up. These are now perfect for your shadow colours in a painting.

Picture 3 when you have used them, you can always decide to clean up the palette and start again.

These mixes are ideal for shading and mid tones.

You actually clean your palette? LOL I like using the mixes for shadows too.

Well, sometimes I clean my palette. When it gets too bad the OCD in me has to clean, lol :)

But.....when I found a mix that I really liked for the shadows I never could remember what colors I used to make it! LOL

That's the beauty of it Robin, after a lot of palette work, those colours will always come back again :-)
