Sketching

A great vantage point the other day. Sat in the warmth of the car, sketching a great view....

I'll add the sketches next post!

it's so nice to see scenery without snow! Are those palm trees?

I have no idea where that is!

Yes palm trees CJ, who'd have thought we would get them here. We are in the county of Devon so we benefit from the Gulf Stream :-)

Torquay Shammickite ;) We took a little trip for three nights to Buckfastleigh and this was one of our outings.

I count 'in the car' as 'en plein air'! But for me it's for the air-conditioning! LOL

Me too, it was really cold earlier in the day, so I opted to sit and sketch in the car on this occasion. Turned out to be a good idea, it was lovely sat there drawing.

Ha! I should have known it was Torquay by the hotels and palm trees but I didn't recognise the harbour. Spent quite a few Saturdays in Torquay, as I went to boarding school in Totnes, not far away. Mostly shopping in Torquay High Street, and hanging around coffee bars.

We nearly went to Totnes, but changed our minds and decided on Torquay instead. Totnes next time, it has a lot of independent shops (they recently wouldn't allow Costa's in the town). The main street in Torquay was being dug up, all the way along, not sure what they are up to as it seemed okay anyway, but you know what these places are like....if it's not broke then change it!!! lol :-)
