Hey....has anyone else come across this.

Seems to be happening quite a bit lately.  I have blogs I follow in my sidebar, but when I click to view them, I get this message....

Permission Denied
"This blog is open to invited readers only"

It continues by having the Blog name I have tried to view ... where the http://  is in the picture above.

Then it says:

"It doesn't look like you have been invited to read this blog.  If you think that this is a mistake, you might want to contact the blog author and request an invitation"

But trying to contact the blog author as it suggests isn't possible, if I don't have their email.

At the bottom it says  "You're signed in as .........(my email)......"

So that leaves me unable to view a blog
I've enjoyed reading and commenting on.

Any ideas on this anybody, and have any of you had the same.

Okay, if folks don't want me to view their blog I accept that totally,
but it just seems a bit strange at the moment,
or is it just that particular blogger has decided to
close down their blog!

I have not come across this, but I don't actually follow anyone, I simply put their link on the side of my blog and click on it. I wonder if my blog is one of the ones that have been denied to you? Weird.

blogger is acting strange lately, they must've put in some new changes that don't quite work!

This has happened to me too. I was able to contact the blogger and she told me she shut down her blog for the time being. So now when I come across this I just assume they have stopped publishing.

Beside my painting and photo blog I own a family blog that is only open for family members who can log in. And for others this message appears. At Settings - Blog readers you can change this setting. I would try this blog again another time to make sure it is not just a hiccup of Blogger that this messages appears.

No, I'm able to see your blog fine thanks Shammickite. Glad I asked this question, see some of the comments below, I think it answer my question :-)

Certainly something new to me, but hopefully this has been answered....see Judy's comment below :-)

I wondered if the blogs I have come across with this issue had shut down, so I think that answers it :-)

Thanks Judy, that is helpful, I didn't know that in Settings - Blog readers could change the setting. I'm guessing this is what has happened with the ones I have come across. A pity, as I enjoyed reading some of their blogs....heyho never mind.

I agree with the others who have commented before me. I have to admit, I have sometimes gotten my feelings hurt just a little when I've seen this -- I thought we were friends... :-) But the comments above mine are reminders that maybe it isn't about friendship but something else.

With you there Kim, I had a couple of blogs (one in particular) I enjoyed reading, but as you say it could be about something else in the persons life that has made them decide to alter who reads their blog, fair enough. Thanks to the comments here I now know it is in Settings on someone elses computer and not something to do with mine.

Yes this has happened to me quite often . There are a few blogs thatI like to comment on that I can't enter when I go there from my own blog, but when I enter from somebody else's blog there is no problem. Now I know too it is something with the Settings .

Hi Jane, At least I now know it isn't just happening to me Jane. Glad I mentioned it here as this certainly has answered why it has been happening for me, and for yourself obviously.

I have closed old blogs that i don't post at anymore and opened new ones in their place. My old ones would say the same thing if someone tried to go there - but in reality - i don't even go there. I just didn't want to delete everything i had on them. I use to feel left out when i saw this on others' blogs but now i realize they could just be ending a certain blog and starting another.

Thanks Sandy, yes there are different reasons why people alter and change how they blog, I've closed a blog one time too. When I checked back somebody else has it now...well, the name of the blog the http:// etc.... bit, somehow people use the name (not the information and things I put on mine by the way, just the url name)
