Khadi paper

Just bought myself some Khadi paper.  I've heard good things about it so looked online and through Jackson Art found a pack of 20 sheets (rough)  for around £15.

I chose the square sheets as I thought I could cut them up into smaller pieces.

On the wrapper it explains what khadi is:

Handmade paper from South India.  Made from 100% recycled cotton rag. Gelatine sized.  Acid free.
For watercolour, ink, printmaking and drawing.

This is the first painting using a whole sheet... well, I thought I might as well get stuck in and do a large painting first.  It gave me the chance to try out some large brushes anyway, but I did have to remember to mix a good supply of paint first...this paper soaks up the paint.

I'm Very pleased with this paper.
Extremely easy to work with and in a way the painting painted itself!

Your painting looks like a day at the beach. Made me smile as we are expecting another snowstorm this afternoon. As to the paper, is it easy to fold? Would it make good pages for text in a small book?

Very nice! I can see that the paper is very thirsty. It would probably be fun to paint on it. One of these days I'll be brave and try watercolours.

Oh dear, I hope that snowstorm isn't too bad! I've just looked at the paper CJ and checked. Yes, it can be folded. It is fairly thick paper, but to be honest folding wasn't a problem.

Yes very thirsty, but I had plenty of paint ready :-)

I always enjoy reading about art supplies and materials. Your painting is so peaceful. Nice job.

I like finding out about different art supplies too Sandy. I've just bought a new palette for my paints, which I read about online, so far it seems quite good, but I haven't put it through its paces yet, lol :-)
