Dunster Castle

A day out, not far from us, to Dunster Castle (click link) turned out well worth the visit, for one thing we caught the weather just right, which makes such a difference...

Even the ceilings in these places are often ornate...

(captured myself in the mirror...not intentionally)....

I liked the wallpaper design of the above room...
but got a strange look from other visitors for photographing the wall
~ it's okay, I'm used to it ~

and the gardens and grounds were lovely...

with some quirky bridges...

 Definitely a grand day out.

Beautiful and interesting pictures!
Got to learn another part of the world :)
The second to last picture - is that a
road crossing a creek?

Have a beautiful day!

Glad you liked this post Tinna, and yes it is a road crossing the creek....we get quite a lot of those here.

looks like a beautiful day!! I love the close up photo of the wallpaper! I do things like that, too. If something has a pretty design or color, I snap a picture of it.

Three things popped into my head viewing these pictures: Thanks for letting us tag along. The modern people look so out of place! And lastly....who did the dusting? :-/

Glad I'm not the only one, taking pics of designs :-)

It was nice to bring you along for the ride Christine :-)

The artist in us isn't it Judy...we see patterns and details :-)

First time visiting there for us and we were very pleasantly surprised...we intend to go back again one day.

Haha...practical as ever Robin, but you're right, there is a lot of dusting. Sometimes it's the Room Guides for the particular rooms, or sometimes those staff employed by the Trust who make sure each room looks its best. :-)

I Love Dunster! My friend is a guide at the Castle! Lovely photos to bring back fond memories for me of that area.

Your friend is very fortunate to be a guide there, it really is a lovely place. One of the best National Trust properties we have visited (but don't tell them that at Arlington Court) lol ;)

Splendid castle and grounds.
I get a bit self conscious photographing things that catch my eye too!

We were really surprised at how nice it was there --- over the years we've driven past many times and it never occurred to us it would be this good.
