Flooding in Worcester

Beautiful to look at but somehow I think the racecourse had "Wet under foot conditions"!

Definitely WET - and not surprising when the culprit is the River Severn on its doorstep...

This bridge seemed to be stopping the debris getting through, so there was a bit of a build up...

We parked next to, but higher up, than the river.  The footpath was only passable if you wore waders!

The swans didn't care though. This next picture shows them enjoying a kindly treat from someone.

...and in fact they are on the 'extended river' as this is normally a pathway...

see.....No sitting around at the moment...

I did wonder if the large box on the right was a Speed Camera for boats!!!

Is it ever going to stop raining? I prefer snow I think. The swans just carry on. Nature is amazing!

I think we should start building an ark Marie! What a strange Winter it is, particularly here in the UK.

I almost panicked when I saw Flooding in Worcester. Not quite awake, I thought the flooding happened in the city just North of where I live! Thinking of home and business owners dealing with property loss and clean up.

It is sad, I think this particular area is used to it though. I've heard of the River Severn flooding there before.

Oh dear, sorry to cause panic, lol....I bet this Worcester is pronounced different too...this one is Wooster.

Really sad, but luckily no houses flooded as far as I can see on the photos. The swans had a good time. :) A few nights frost and you could organise skating races.... :)

Yes, it is good that no houses seemed to be hit by this flooding. Love your idea on the skating - there has been snow up there since our visit, so you never know it could happen :-)

You were at the racecourse for the seahorse races, right?

It's been 'weird' weather all over! We've had tornadoes several weekends in a row! NOT usual for Florida! :-/

LOL....I guess we were ;)

Must be that El Niño thing the weather people have said about!

Oh dear that is awful! I've had to abandon taking Annie to our park, I was sinking ankle deep in the mud. Waders would be needed to walk there.

Yup, the pronunciation is different. In these parts, we pronounce it Wis-tah.

ann @ studiohyde said...

...yes, think I would start building a boat! lol

That sounds way too posh for us!
