Down the hill to the beach

A walk we haven't done for some time....
across the hills

and finding the recent storms have brought down a tree

heading on down to the beach
we spied something different

appeared to be a pile of large Lego pieces!

and indeed they really did look like grown up Lego -

placed to protect the chalets

Hope this works for them

I suppose they could always use this to help hold it up!!!

and a close up - amazing texture don't you think.

I hope the lego protects those chalets, it looks very wobbly. Love the texture of that tree!

Are the lego bricks to help protect the beach from eroding during storms?

The chalets remind me of the song with the line, "Little boxes on a hillside...and they all look just the same." Very interesting spot!

Such character in that wood!

Time will tell I think, as to whether they work.

I think so CJ. We were surprised to see something like that down there!

I know the song, yes it is like that, lol :-)

ann @ studiohyde said...

Exactly, don't think I would want to stay in one that close to the edge!

It was a good walk Christine...it's part of a hill. The other side of it is Ilfracombe and this was a beach called Hele (pron. heel).

Gorgeous all! I Love the Giant legos! I hope those homes will be safe. Your art shines in all mediums, Ann!

The chalets do not look real. A very unusual "neighborhood." How nice, that you can walk to the beach.

Oh my! Those chalets are a little too close to the edge for me! Great texture in that 'tree'!

All the chalets look like a Lego town from a distance too. The giant Lego bricks look amazing, I hope they do the job. The sea is trying to claim back the land for sure.
My daughter has just bought a Lego model of Berlin (she visited last year). I need to learn how to do the linky thing :-)

Thanks Lynn :-)

I know, they look like toy town don't they. These are holiday chalets, so at least aren't lived in full time.

ann @ studiohyde said...

Yes, very close to the edge!

Thanks for the link...that looks fun to build. (our kids like lego too) ;)

Lovely to see one of the old mooring posts still in existence.... sadly, all the posts in CM bay have long gone. And there were many of them. I remember the beach having about 7 or 8 when I was little. And one had the name of Polly Lightfoot, I have no idea why!

Yes, it's sad when things like that change. I love the name Polly Lightfoot, sounds like a character from a book.

Surprisingly close to the edge actually...I was even concerned just taking the photos!
