Croft Castle

Another National Trust visit, this time to Croft Castle and Parkland.

although it is a Castle, inside it is very homey

In this room, all these designs are individually hand painted, so no two are exactly the same...

Inner Courtyard seen from one of the rooms

Then outside, it was nice to have a wander

the parkland was lovely,
with a very quaint building

Then, of course, I stopped for lunch

 and did some sketching

  1. I can imagine that place full of life, the hustle and bustle of servants meeting the needs of the gentry.

The workmanship is beautiful. Thanks for taking me along again, Ann.

    1. Yes, it would be easy to imagine that life there. The Trust set out rooms so well it sort of transports you back in time :)

    1. Thanks Christine, it was nice doing the sketching. I added watercolour later, but having been there actually sketching the place, it helped a lot.

    1. It really surprised me, because from the outside it looked quite a stark cold place, never thought it would be furnished as it was.

    1. Thanks Rainey, it's always nice to sketch 'en plein air' but sometimes 'challenging' depending on where you are, lol - Glad you like my sketches.
