Squirrel

Another fellow blogger has posted some gorgeous photos of squirrels on her blog.  Having asked if it would be okay to do a painting from one of them, I got a resounding Yes...so here's my painting which I have added to my sketchbook.

I hope this blogger, who will be given the link to this post, likes my version from her photos.

Many thanks MS for permission to use your reference photo.

The squirrels here sure get around. They must have stowed away on one of the cargo ships, Ann. Love how you captured their redness.

They're sneaky little blighters Marie, they certainly get around. Glad you like my rendition :)

The squirrels around my house are all grey or black, big hairy beasts who eat up all the bird seed, but recently I have spied a cheeky little red squirrel who has been coming to my back deck to eat the breadcrumbs I put out for her..... I will post a pic soon! I haven't seen a red squirrel here before so i hope she sticks around.

Well I haven't seen a black squirrel, they sound a bit greedy with the bird seed. Hope your little red stays :)

I must Admit there is something very cute about them :)

Thank you so much Faye. I did this painting with a full brush of paint, no pencil outline, it was all a bit of a gamble as to how it would turn out. :)

Yes doing what squirrels are good at - eating :)

Aw, I miss squirrels. They have a few here but they're scrawny anorexic looking things that I don't think are 'real' squirrels. Love your painting!

What a cutie! We have had a squirrel the last couple of days at our bird feeder. It's the first one I've seen near our house in a few years and I wonder if it'll be bringing the rest of its family. They usually do. :-)
