A look back, quite literally

Mirror Image

From my Useful Painting Tips blog post last year....Nice to recap sometimes....

If you are unsure about a painting
and ask yourself if it looks a completely finished piece
then
just hold up a mirror and look at the painting.
By viewing via a mirror
it shows up any inconsistencies
which you can then correct.

Give it a try and let me know
what you think.

It's all in the application - honestly ;)

Great tip it must be like looking at someone else's work, a different perspective.

Yes, that's what I think :)

Yes, great tip! I do this when I'm not sure how it's going!

Nice that u brought that up - I have done it when sketching portraits and am amazed how off it can be on one side. This is a really helpful technique for someone who might not know about this.

Yes, hopefully it will help someone :)

just felt to say to you Marie and Eileen - u probably are and don't know it - i remember getting some acrylics and just starting to slosh some paint around until it looked like something and then i made it into something. You might surprise yourself.

That sounds like a good, no pressure way to paint :)
