A visit to Builth Wells

street view of builth wells

Although we had a walk around the town,
we did enjoy a wander next to the river

Hot and sunny,
so William took husband down to the river
for a nice refreshing paddle and drink
(William that is, not husband)

Thought this was clever -
a queue of people waiting for the bus!

As we walked along the park next to the river
we saw these three machines parked up.

Police  (Heddlu in Welsh)

See, they are very helpful in Wales and teach everyone
their language whilst you walk about.

Like  road signs too, in Welsh - very useful for keeping children occupied on car journeys.
Instead of them saying "Are we there yet?"  repeatedly.

The bikes worked, as we saw them being driven off later -
not so sure that the people cutting the grass were having as much luck with their machine though...

So, how many people does it take to mend a mower?

At least 5
(photo doesn't show them all, but believe me there were 5 of them at
this point in time)

Hope they fixed it, there was a lot of grass to cut.

Again, I had time for some quick sketches
although I added watercolour to them later in the day.

and spent a bit more time during the evening on this last painting from our day out...

~ and so it's onward for us - til the next blog post ~

The distant shot of the queue looks like real people. Great! Another beautiful place, Ann!

I always like your walk abouts. The best part are your drawings! ♥♥♥♥

I love that wall art. I saw the first photo and wondered what was clever about waiting for a bus (maybe a Welsh thing maybe LOL) then realised :-) Love your sketches as always.

...and the best part for me, is doing the drawings :)

...and I wondered if they have ever had people dress up as the wall art and stand beside the drawings (or perhaps they are 'actual' people from the town)...that could become a whole new challenge there to try and "spot the bus stop people"! ;)
