Sketches

Enjoyed a day out by the River Exe. Walked a trail from Exmouth to Lympstone and sketched along the way.

Next sketch is at Lympstone harbour

An outing that inevitably meant we had to take some light refreshment and lunch at the pub...the phonebox was just the other side of the wall, but too tempting not to sketch it on the scene

Hanging baskets in the pub garden

Rooftops opposite

And finally a sketch of Lympstone harbour.
The cottages that face the river have washing lines on the shore, but they have to watch the tide!

I like that you added the phone box, they are fast becoming obsolete what with mobiles and the internet!

Yes, there's something nice about seeing a red phonebox these days 🙂

Great sketches, Ann! I love esp. the last one with the church and the boats.

These are fabulous and I especially like the one with the phone box included. There is a pub near to us that still has this old style one but it is just by the roadside . I have seen a few that people have purchased and put in their own gardens too. Next bright idea they come up with will be to take away our red post boxes!! Hugs Mrs A.

I think they are icons that make us who we are. I know of one on Dartmoor that has been retained by the community and used as a book swap library. 📕📗📘📙
