Travel sketches

We have recently been on a short trip down to Cornwall.

Great opportunity for sketching

~ and challenging with the weather too at times.
It can prove very difficult holding a sketchbook when the weather decides to change ~

but nonetheless, I got these completed in my moleskine sketchbook

They're lovely Ann. I'm so fed up of this changeable weather, I don't know how you cope.

I know what you mean. The other day was fog nearly all day. Another was rain and winds all day. Then just to be different we had a day with the sun out and clear skies, temperatures had risen, which meant such a change in atmosphere, it made me feel giddy (quite literally).

Thank you Christine. I love sketching when we travel, not only are they fun to do at the time, but make a lovely memory too. Now I look at these paintings and remember Exactly where I was at the time :)

Wonderful sketches. Truro is a town on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I wonder if there were a lot of Cornishmen who settled in the area and were homesick?

Shucks, thanks Robin 🙂

Quite likely. I think there are a lot of towns with names from places here in the US and also in Australia too.

These are lovely sketches. Nice to be able to get out and sketch in spite of the weather. I'm at home for a while, not only because of cold weather, but I have had a hip replacement surgery so have to spend some time recovering, however, I'll be up and dancing in no time..

Thanks Marie, I enjoyed painting these. 🙂

Oh no, that sounds major surgery. Hope you are mending well and I guess you need to exercise, but be careful in the bad weather won’t you. All the best Shammickite.
