Here's a photo from one of the signs there to start off with - hope you can read it.
We walked around the perimeter, next to a stream. Gave me a chance to photo various things...
As we passed the stream, we saw large building materials, and wondered if they had fallen down the hill from the castle, but then found a Information notice with these pics....again hope you can read them...
We finally made our way round to the entrance and so on up to the ruin
This next photo was looking back toward the entrance

Enjoyed your tour today!
Glad you enjoyed the visit Christine π
So interesting! Thanks for the tour! :)
Great pictures, we have noticed over the last 30 years that the outline is not as substantial as it used to be. Sarah x
Very interesting place, poor Mrs Stockley! I love the photo of William having a good look at the view :)
Another National Trust, but with a difference wasn’t it, lol.
I think the National Trust go for ‘Preserving’ and not ‘Restoring’. I can understand it, nature takes it toll, but it would definitely end up being a Reproduction castle if they did too much π
William loved the adventure, lol π
What's left of it is beautiful!
It certainly shows that part of the castle history, we enjoyed our visit π
