Overnight trip to France - SHOPPING & SIGHTSEEING

No, it wasn't a booze cruise...

we genuinely went Shopping plus Sightseeing

I didn't have a great deal of time for sketching whilst there

apart from on the boat and from memory with this first sketch, the view as we drove into Plymouth

to board

Even though we were leaving the port at night,

I could just glean outlines of the dock and a building

By morning there was the usual porthole view....well, part of it anyway

PORT HOLE DRAWING - the view was SEA SEA and SEA

We drove down to Brest and luckily the cable car was in action this time...had to have a go,

although Graham wasn't too sure, he thought it was a LONG LONG WAY DOWN!

and a sightseeing walk around

I loved this art installation of washing on a line

(spot Graham looking perplexed)

Did a one-line sketch of a campervan when we parked up for shopping

The day went all too quickly and we were soon on the boat again travelling home.

I needed a subject and luckily one appeared before me, lol

ðŸ‡«ðŸ‡·ðŸ‡«ðŸ‡·ðŸ‡«ðŸ‡· vive le france - it was a good day 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

Love your sketches of your awayday, especially the still life fast asleep :)
Very brave of you to go on the cable car, Graham's right about it being a long way down :)

What? No William???? I'm sure we'll hear about his displeasure of being left behind! (PS Love the porthole sketch!) :D

When we went on a one day junket to France, Cherbourg actually, quite a few years ago, the best part was wandering round a French supermarket and looking at all the different cheeses, and wines, and pastries and groceries etc.... so different from what was available in England back then. Things may have changed by now. You can probably get the same stuff at Sainsburys!
