Lots of steps to the beach!

National Trust - Bedruthan steps

On our recent trip we took advantage of National Trust parking and great walks.  This is Bedruthan steps (I think there are about 120 steps on a good day down to the beach)....but first a walk across the cliff top to them...

Our glimpse of the beach ...

Can you see the seagulls on the side of the cliff ?

There - I used the zoom...

I'm not adventurous enough to have negotiated slippery steps down that far -
I'm a klutz at the best of times,
so I sent husband and a certain lurcher down.
Must admit I was relieved to see them down there safely on the beach...

 And husband took photos there...
Looking back at the steps he had just walked down!

But can you see me at the top?

 Yep...there I am...

I made the most of the view and taking pics...

 zooming in....

 and in....

this is the pic husband was about to take...

Definitely on our 'return to list' and hopefully next time
I will actually attempt to walk down to the beach!

Visiting Cornwall

Again we have stayed at Harlyn Bay, near Padstow....The Harlyn Inn - this is the pic from our room, which looked over a flat roof, but we could see the beach....literally a stones throw, how great was that.

Doesn't look very rocky on this beach, but look at the next photo

Lots of rocks

with some looking like Steps

...but there was also another section of the same beach with a lot of sand
and some man-made wooden steps

The storms had badly hit some steps

someone had drawn a chalk dial on this stone

Visiting Buckland Abbey

National Trust - Buckland Abbey

Some of the staff and volunteers around the Abbey were in costume, which was nice to see.  Plus there was a demo going on in the kitchen, giving an idea of what was cooked back in the day.

The great barn at the Abbey

The best part for me was seeing their original Rembrandt
