Anne Hathaway's cottage (she was something to do with Shakespeare)!

Here I've used the inside cover page of my Fabriano Classico5 sketchbook.  The paper is very thin, but had a nice grey tone, so thought I would use it.  This is a quick Gouache sketch of Anne Hathaway's cottage.  One point I would make is that this kind of subject lends itself to be 'fairly realistic', however, I always feel it comes over very "Chocolate Box Art"....any opinions out there?

Lovely. And as an aside Alphonse Mucha made a fortune in his lifetime having his art on things like cookie tins. =^,.^=

It's a lovely sketch Ann and an excellent likeness.. I've been inside Anne Hathaway's cottage although it was a good few years ago now. It was the childhood home of William Shakespeare's wife.

Thanks Christine, CJ, Eileen and Robin......Lucky you Eileen, we haven't been to the Anne Hathaway's cottage, but have visited Stratford-upon-Avon town.
