Working on a big estate, he met GreatGranny and she ran away with him. ❤️ann @ studiohydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01615115294267727281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995486809946665574.post-5284820585258536982018-11-12T08:06:51.735+00:002018-11-12T08:06:51.735+00:00That's wonderful that you knew your Great Gran...That's wonderful that you knew your Great Grandad and you're right to be very proud of him. I think the animals that died in the Great War are sometimes forgotten. How wonderful to know that your Great Grandad looked after them and saved some horses. I can see where your love of horses comes from now,
I've been busy researching my own and my husband's family history and it's made me very sad to discover the losses in our families and never to have know our distant relatives. Brrrr.
Nice to know there were remembrance events over in Canada too. I would have cried at the Last Post! We saw a fire lit on Potters Hill, as were lots around the country, I sent up a prayer.ann @ studiohydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01615115294267727281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995486809946665574.post-76607677936726628182018-11-11T19:22:53.247+00:002018-11-11T19:22:53.247+00:00Very special, to have known your GreatGranddad. Very cold, I was wearing my long johns under my clothes! 2C out there, but sunny. Lots of poppy wreaths being laid by local dignitaries, lots of tears in my eyes as I listened to the bagpipes and then the Last Post. It always affects me like that. Love the picture of Great Grandad, what a brave man. I left my poppy on the cenotaph in remembrance of the fallen.Shammickitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11969803866899076638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995486809946665574.post-38120310088651652342018-11-11T15:13:01.896+00:002018-11-11T15:13:01.896+00:00Thanks Christine, he was a small man but had a big...Thanks Christine, he was a small man but had a big personality. ann @ studiohydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01615115294267727281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995486809946665574.post-19946590377626802892018-11-11T13:17:48.122+00:002018-11-11T13:17:48.122+00:00You have a right to be proud!
