Watching the setting sun

A week or so ago the weather here was back to Summer and the sunsets to go with it.  Luckily we had a camera handy and I captured the sun setting over Woolacombe

almost gone...

 Gone !

When we got home I just had to do a quick sketch of it -

I kept it really simple by laying on a lot of clear water first and dropping in the colours so they spread. There was very little painting on my part with this....I just wanted to remember the scene in a different way to having the photos.

....Oh, and  I took out the sun by covering the top of a watercolour tube with tissue, it was that easy.

Thanks Judith...yes I'm glad I've recorded it as I hear, and if we are to believe it, that there is some very different weather on the way!

Dear Ann,
Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos and the painting. You've captured the mood. Congrats! Me,too, love watching sunset at a sea. When you come to Sydney, come over! I'll take you to a beautiful beach.

Well didn't I come by at just the right moment! I took photos of the moon before it set this morning. It is a clearly bright moon in a purplish early morning light. Now I know a way to get the moon in my picture without worrying about the roundness or without using friskit.

Your picture came out pretty and a good representative of the sunset.

Thanks you Freebird...I use a non techo type camera (in other words 'simple' for me to cope with) and it takes the most amazing photos for me.

Thank you Marius....Vă mulţumim pentru comentariul dvs. Marius

What a romantic. These lovely shots played like a moving image as I scrolled down the page. There is magic in a sunset.
