Busy busy painting

Although I love painting Large watercolours, I get a lot of fun from painting miniatures, namely the ACEO (Art Cards Edition & Originals).   I add most of them to my Etsy shop.

About time for a clean water pot and palette again don't you think.....

      but mix it up before you clean out the palette and you have a very nice shadow colour to use.

Sketches and ideas

Sketches help me decide how to set out a painting and also the doodling part gives me ideas too.  That's how some of my recent paintings have began....a piece of paper, pencil and watercolour.   Not all my sketches and ideas end up as completed works, but a lot do...

To start with I have done a painting from my previous post photo...

remember... 

what doesn't show in the photograph were the ponies wandering about (as they do in the New Forest)
so I took artistic license and added them in my painting

impressionist/contemporary, and for me holds the feeling of the day when I took the photo.
