Mottisfont National Trust

We have visited here before, but it's always good to go back and have another look around.  The National Trust properties do change some of their displays and in this case they had a really good exhibition about Heath Robinson and his artwork on show....how could I NOT go and see it.

...first sight of the house...

looking out to the river that runs along next to the property

pano photo - was quite funny as one of the national trust guides realised what I was doing and kept moving round so he did n't end up in the photo

this is on the right-hand side of the property

the River Test

and now for the Heath Robinson exhibition

{sorry about the bright-spots on some of the following photos, the lights in the rooms caught the camera}

and I ended up in the reflection - Doh!

Well worth the visit to see these drawings.

{thank you Mottisfont for putting on this exhibition}

Wonderful illustrations. I had never heard of Heath Robinson, but he reminds me a lot of Norman Rockwell. There's innocence and charm in his drawings, but strong political statements, too.

There were so many illustrations on display that I couldn't photo them all, it was so well worth going to.

I'm glad to share it Christine :)

What a great place to visit! I'd have to spend a couple of days there just to enjoy the beautiful grounds, and the exhibits inside.

Yes, it is very lovely there. I would have enjoyed a walk along next to the river, but it was so bitterly cold, another time I hope.

Lovely illustrations and such a good exhibition. It's good that the Trust allows photographs to be taken and made me smile about how accommodating they are.

It was only by chance we happened to visit, so pleased we did and found the exhibition on :)

I hadn't realised Heath Robinson had done so much artwork :)

Yes, most Trust properties allow photos to be taken. Their only rule is that the flash on the camera is turned off, as it could disturb other visitors. :)

It is interesting to see the inside of the house. We have always visited in the summer with the dog. That Heath Robinson exhibition is fabulous, so interesting. Sarah x
