He had looked after and saved horses under fire, ultimately receiving a bravery award

I remember you posting this photo of your great grandad before.
Very deserving of his bravery award.
We must never forget our brave soldiers and animals who served and made sacrifices in past wars.

Great photo of your grandfather on the horse, and how noble to care for the horses even under fire. We asked all who had been or are in the armed services to stand up in church on Sunday, and 20 stood up so we could honor them, 19 men and 1 woman.

Hi Ann.... another gouache / Indian ink resist on my blog, such a neat process. You should try it!!!!!
