An Estuary on the Isle of Wight

Our recent trip to the island was very relaxing.  We had plenty of time to explore and on this trip we went down to Newtown Estuary.  Never been there before, but so worth the visit.

there was a pulley system to get the little boats back to shore...it was a bit like a washing line boat park!

then we walked back to the Old Town Hall and past the water pump

look at the slope on the lintel above the door in the next picture.  Apparently the building has been like this for a very long time

this old building and the nearby estuary are run by the National Trust

  8. Thanks Jane, Robin and Eileen.....we felt we had stumbled upon a gem of a place. Glad I took those pictures to share, although it was getting late in the day and also very cloudy.

  10. I've visited IOW a few times while I lived in S'oton, but have never been to this area. Great pictures, and I love that wonky building.

    1. We hadn't found this place before either and we've gone over a lot of times. I think it's their secret place that we've discovered, lol.
