Sketches from our travels

Like I said in my previous post, I'm adding some sketches in this post of our trip away...but

Firstly one or two sketches from our trip to Birdlip in Gloucester.  I've already added some in my blog post dated 24th January here are some that escaped that blog post...

using a large moleskine journal I started with the map ...

 ....notes on the journey

We have just come back from another trip down to Buckfastleigh.  Great opportunity to sketch in a different town, and start another journal page with the map...

sketched from the car (it was warm in the car and cold outside, you get the idea)...

Looking forward to other trips away
and more sketching!

Congrats on being picked. Your sketches are awesome Ann. Where"s Walter.:)) I love Mr. Walter and his silly ways as you always capture his spirit. It must have been a very nice trip. Have a great weekend.

I don't know what that last part meant, but I think it calls for congratulations! :) Lovely sketches! I especially like the one of the person looking at the water fowl on the river.

Ann - these are delightful sketches - what a great way to capture a trip. I am sure as you look back on these pages they will bring back many wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing. Have a super day.

Thanks Debbie, yes that does happen, more so than photographs even. I think it's because you paint the 'feeling' of the scene and that plants it in our memories :-)

I love how you started each trip with a map. The sketches of each area are super and I love that you showed the photos in the post below. You have really been sketching quite a bit!

Thanks Joan, glad you like the map that starts off the pages. I thought it was a good introduction to each set of sketches. Yes, I have been busy - as long as I have a pen or paints in my hand I'm a happy bunny, lol :-)
