Designs in the sand

I've taken a couple of photos along the beach of the sand after the sea has gone out.  The sand gets pushed every which way, but somehow it leaves lovely shapes and patterns

and apart from the occasional piece of seaweed we sometimes find these

cuttlefish

and sometimes come across these

umm.....I wonder what this is with?

ah...I think this is the culprit

but by the time I took this photo the horses who had left them were back in their field!

At the end of our walk we passed the Beach Huts which are now in place ready for the holiday season. Each summer they are put back on the sand making a splash of colour, each numbered and each with a girls name
they make an additional design on the sand
The colours are green, red, blue and yellow randomly repeated

Ah, nature. Beautiful, sometimes brutal but always interesting. (I’m having beach envy!)

That was so interesting, with the beautiful ocean and beach patterns. Even those little houses are intriguing.

Love the multi colored bath houses, so how did they name them do you know? Random girls names or were they originally named after someone. I am sure the names make it easier to remember which one you are assigned to. The cuttlefish bone was interesting, don't think we get them on our beaches.

Hi Kathy, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don't know the history of the names for the beach huts, I guess they were random names, but like you say they help people remember their hut and add a personal touch. I do know that they are hired out to include a table, 4 chairs and a windbreak. ....ann:)
