Thanks for the info about the horse wearing a mask. I saw one today which just had a cover over its nostrils. Flies can be so irritating.

Thanks Sue. Sometimes if horses have a mask over just their nose, it could mean they have pink skin in that area - they would get sunburnt - hence the mask helps protect them...and yes, you can put human suncream on them in those places to help them :)
