I'm having a play with mixed media at the moment. A simple watercolour wash as background. Leave it to dry completely and then add Soft Pastels. I have even added water to the pastels and they work like watercolour spreading across the paper....fun to watch.
and a couple of seascape versions of Lundy Island, well my version anyways....
What do you reckon, would these be worth making into framed
works for the Gallery?

oh, very nice. i particularly like the blue Lundy island painting. the softness makes it look sort of foggy.
Thanks Sue, I like the blue version too, I used Prussian Blue (one of my fav. colours).
I really like the blue one, too, and am intrigued by the watercolor with soft pastels. Lovely!

Thanks Vicki. I happened to have some pastels which (I admit I don't tend to use a great deal) and just thought I would put them on some dry watercolour. I then decided to push them about a bit with clear water and it blended nicely, so that started me off. It's nice experimenting.
I have no idea how to price something of this nature. The first watercolor caught my breath - it is absolutely gorgeous. And then I scrolled down and was equally amazed. It is obvious that you are really comfortable with watercolors. Love your work!

Lovely, soft paintings. Valerie
Aww Thanks Sandy, they really were experimental, but I was pleased how they turned out. I do enjoy watercolours, although tend to Exhibit Acrylics in the Gallery. I wouldn't have any idea how to price these, they are only about 5" x 6", so would probably just give them away at some time.
Thanks Valerie :)
anything you do is good for the gallery!
Aww, Thanks Christine :)
Oh I love that last one the best. Its very moody blues. :) Yes I would frame them up and put them in the gallery.
The watercolors and pastel are a nice combination! I like the loose look to the ones of the island.
Very nice effects, I particularly like the red one.
Absolutely! (But I might be slightly prejudiced! ;)
Thanks Cris, I liked the blue one, the washes worked on that :)
Thanks Joan :)
Thanks Robin :)
