loosely based on Ilfracombe Harbour,
I just decided to make it very basic and see how it turned out
....and this is what happens when I doodle whilst chatting on the phone!
This next photograph
(yes I've sneaked in a photo)
should
make
you
Smile
See....I knew you would
I tried sketching this, but didn't use a pencil outline first,
just used the paint to draw out the picture
- I looked for Shapes rather than looking at the subject for what it is -
then outlined in pen when the paint had dried
and finally I have done this next painting
from a photograph. I won't show you the photo as it was
sourced from another Blog and I didn't ask permission first!
Shock! What is that she says 'didn't ask first'!!!
Well, there is a reason, you see if the person
recognises this from the photo and Likes it, they
can have it as a gift. This really was a fun painting.
I approached it in a similar way to the above painting, but
dropped a lot of wet-into-wet washes in.
I have put it in a mount and clear cover
and if by chance it isn't claimed, I don't mind that either. I enjoyed painting it.
I'm Linking to Paint Party Friday today
with many thanks to
EVA & Kristin for their hospitality
Have a great weekend all

Beautiful work, love your loose paintings. Valerie
Love the donkey! The photo and your painting! :)
I wish I could be brave and paint without penciling in and revising first
LOVE the donkey!!
your pieces are lovely - the little watercolour of the harbour is so pretty and the donkey really made me smile - great photo!
THANKS Valerie-Jael, Judy, CJ, Kim and Nic ... sorry I'm not replying to you each individually but I am short of time today :) So glad you have stopped by it means a lot to me.
Hahaha, that is a great exercise to use a spot for something specific from there, I really like the idea, now your horse while talking on the phone is great. Saludos

All lovely work here. I love the donkey painting a lot and I laughed when I read what you doodled while on phone...I laughed because when I doodle there is no way you can recognize it as anything but a mess. Your horse is wonderful. and last but not least I know I have seen that donkey before. hmmm
I love your paintings and the donkey is just super cute :)
Oh my mule! Dearest Ann, I think it just might be me in that painting?! It is my morning yawn if I am not mistaken :-) I am so very honoured that you painted me.... I hope I am not wrong that it is my handsomeness? Sending you neighbrays in grateful thanks - The Mini xxx

I am so impressed by the lovely, loose horse sketch! How perfectly it all came out
Yes Mini, you are correct, it is yourself you are seeing :) Would you like to have this painting, tiz only small but then so are you and after all they do say all the best things come in small packages! You can get FH to email me, my contact email is in the tab at the top of the page.
I love your style of painting - this is a mule right? And yes I did smile a lot! And that lady recognized her mule? Or she just knew that you didn't know too many mules. In any event, your artwork is wonderful and I do love it!
Sandy
So cute! The donkeys are just lovely - lucky Mini to have a portrait done by you!
Nice artwork! You have a distinctive style that is all your own!
I like to sketch too, but rarely get around to it. Here is a post on my blog:

And another:

I've found if you don't keep sketching, you get out of practice and it shows :-)
Oh Ann, what a delightful post with such wonderful sketches. I'm so very impressed that you can sketch so perfectly while on the phone. My phone doodles are usually girls or flowers and not nearly this beautiful. Cataract surgery is over and successful. I did have some scary reactions to the anesthesia but not life threatening.
I love that sweet harboir painting. And that donkey. Brilliant!
Taryn, it is lovely seeing your sketches - your Drawings are really good. You should do more, not for practice but because you are so good at them :)
MANY THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR COMMENTS :)
