Oh cool. Our birds are all staking out their rentals for spring too. This is either a Purple Martin or a violet green swallow I believe.. cant tell since its not that close. we have the Violet green swallows around us. They love these type of boxes.
Sounds like you have really interesting birds there Cris. I need to look up Purple Martin's and Violet green swallows. We do have Martin's and Swallows but they certainly haven't the colourful names yours have. I always have trouble recognising the difference between ours they are very similar.
