Likely I went into this too soon, some of the paint spread further than I intended, but then it was fun to do - and to watch. Next time I will try to be more restrained, and hold back until some of the 'shine' from the clear water, has gone from the paper.

Sunset
Still with the Saunders Waterford pad I've painted this sunset. Prepared the colours first, that is the main thing, and plenty of it. I did a very light pencil sketch of where I wanted things to go, like the distant hills. Then put over the whole of the page clear water. As the paper is rough and quite thick, I let it start to soak in and then added another layer of clear water to make sure.

I like the look. Fascinated to see how you work
Thanks CJ. I need to do a little video or step-by-step....I'll try to put something together soon.
It's all a learning experience. Lovely colors.
I see the landscape already! <3
Thanks Cris :-)
Great to see your brave experimental work. I love the vibrant colours, and it makes me think somehow of aurora borealis.
Thanks Jez, I should try to paint an aurora borealis....that would be a good experiment :-)
Great to see you playing and experimenting with the watercolors!!! This is nice and loose!
