Here's another painting in my Saunders Waterford Pad,
which incidentally I'm enjoying using -
It is a Rough paper, so I wasn't sure at first if that would
be a good thing, I usually go for NOT paper, the (in between rough and very smooth)...
but as things turn out I've really enjoyed putting paint and brush onto this surface.
I plan to crop this painting from the pad, frame and sell it.
~ WATERMOUTH HARBOUR, DEVON ~
Today, I am joining the party....
Many thanks to EVA & Kristin
for hosting.

its a beautiful painting! I do like rough textured paper, happy paint party friday!!!!
You painting is making me wish beach weather would hurry up.
This is a gorgeous sea scene, Ann. I think it will be a wonderful framed painting. What does NOT paper mean? Is that just a term you use or is it one I'm supposed to know? I'm clearly a novice in papers.
Beautiful and inspiring watercolour. Thank you for sharing

So yeah, it's gorgeous, very well done, perfectly recreates the atmosphere. Saludos
It's a lovely painting. I am sure it will sell.
this is really lovely-so serene...happy PPF!
Thanks Marielle - Watermouth harbour is a very peaceful place - it was a pleasure to paint it.
Thanks Sirkka :-)
Thanks Laila, I'm glad you like the atmosphere of this painting.
Thanks very much Robert :-)
Thanks Annette :-)
Thanks Laurie M :-)
LOL....don't we all. Yesterday was wet here ...all day!!!
Thanks Faye. Watercolour papers often are graded as: Smooth, NOT and Rough. Literally the NOT paper is the in between paper, it isn't Smooth and is isn't Rough, so it is NOT one or the other.....hence it is called NOT. Hope this helps Faye :-)
Thanks Aga :-)
Thanks Mari :-)
Thanks Cris, I hope it will sell :-)
Thanks Linda :-)
A lovely painting of my favourite type of scenery! Sarah x
Thanks Sarah - glad you like this painting :-)
Lovely watery colours!
Wow, Ann! I love the spontaneous feel of your water front scene, because it looks so peaceful and inviting. Blessings, my friend!
this is so lovely... you have captured the shape of the boat with so few brushstrokes... really wonderful...xx
Hi Ann. Nice to see you on PPF. This is a very nice painting. Love the quietness of it. Very gentle. It will sell fast. Have a wonderful day.
Lovely painting, Ann. I am in awe.
Very nice. Only one boat?
Lovely! ♥♥♥
It's a lovely painting with great light reflection hitting the water !
Yes, only one...it was a quiet day ;)
Thanks everyone :-)
I love how distinct your style is whether you are doing a beach scene or William! All gorgeous work! I recognize it anywhere!
Hugs Giggles
Thanks Giggles, it's funny but I recognise other peoples art because of their individual styles, but I don't see a style of my own work. lol :-)
Back in the old days.... hehehe, I'm not THAT old!.... it was full of boats! Including the old sailing ketches that delivered strawberries to Wales, and brought back coal.
This is beautiful. You should not have any trouble selling this painting.
Nicole/Beadwright
There are still quite a lot of boats in the dry dock part (not sure if they call it dry dock, but the piece with no water)...you can tell I know a lot about boats, lol. It's nice to know about the trade between here and Wales, thanks Shammickite :-)
This is a beautiful painting-I'm not surprised you plan to frame and sell it. I love the loose feel to watercolours which you capture so well.
Thanks Nicole :-)
Thanks Nic :-)
Beautiful work, Ann, I love it! Rough paper can be very surprising, in a pleasant way.
This came out really nicely, Ann! I love the boat and the way you did the water. I'm sure it will look great framed.
Thanks so much Judy. Yes, rough paper can be surprising, I had avoided it at one time, but I think it adds to the painting process now.
Thanks Joan....I really enjoyed doing this painting.
Really love this soft landscape Ann. I have no doubt it will be a success for you. Interesting to hear your view on Saunders Waterford especially as I used it yesterday for the fourth time and was still struck how difficult I found it to manipulate water and pigment in a loose fashion... and you know I am a loosie at heart... lol Perhaps it is what we get used to. :-)
Just turned over the page from May to June in my Westcountry Calendar (Western Morning News) and June's picture is Watermouth!
That's incredible! What a coincidence.....I must take a look at their site and see if I can find the pic.
I got disheartened with the rough paper and had left it for some time, then I suddenly thought I would mix a lot, A LOT mind, of colour in my deep well palette...I soaked the paper first with clear water and dropped on the paint, then left it to dry completely. I just added detail on top. I think the sheer frustration of the paper made me bold and just go for it...glad I did.
This is a very nice painting Anne and I've enjoyed reading about Saunders Waterford.
Wonderful, peaceful boat scene! It is such a relaxing painting! Happy PPF!
Thanks John :-)
Thanks Tammie :-)
Sorry to be so late that I am commenter No 56. I love your painting, such a calm scene, beautifully painted. I am sure it will sell very quickly.
Great watercolor. I love the beach on a damp and foggy day. Thanks for taking me to that place.
